Love this new technology! Press play, wait for the intro to load, then as you're driving around New York City on top of a yellow cab, use your mouse to look at everything - yes, left, right, up, down, diagonally. What a fun way to experience Manhattan with fully immersive, 3D interactive video...
This short video shows some of the things to see and do in Chicago, Illinois - the "Windy City" along Lake Michigan. This clip focuses more on the architecture and commercial aspects of Chicago, such as shopping and famous deep dish pizzas, but my personal highlight is Anish Kapoor's giant shiny amorphous sculpture in Millennium Park.
Here's a POV video of hiking one of the most popular trails in the Grand Canyon, the South Kaibob. It's on cold, wintery days like today that I think back to my time spent in Arizona, and my three trips to the Grand Canyon.
Here's a fun little video tour of Muir Woods, an amazing park just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The host is a young woman who seems to be speaking to a younger audience, but it's still entertaining and informative. The giant redwood and sequoia trees are truly huge and magnificent; they're so big that it's always dark, cool and humid below their towering trunks. Good job!
Here's a great video showing the Great China Herb Company in San Francisco's Chinatown. The host guides us through the process from the doctor's visit and questions through to completing the herbal order at the pharmacy. The West Coast of the U.S. and especially northern California is much more open to these "eastern" or "alternative" medicines and treatments than most other parts of North America; so it's great to see this shop doing well in San Fran!
